Hypnosis is a trance-like state and everyone has the ability to enter into a trance. Every day, people slip into natural trance states when they become absorbed in watching television, reading a book, using computers, or even driving.

Hypnotherapy is Psychotherapy, a treatment for mental and emotional problems which uses hypnosis to help people. Hypnosis is the key that unlocks the door in the power house of thoughts, memories and emotions; namely the subconscious mind.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a state of relaxation, concentration, your awareness is heightened and your body relaxed. It is completely safe and natural.
 
Is there anyone who cannot be hypnotised?
Everyone can be hypnotised (except the mentally challenged).
 
Are drugs used?
No drugs are not used.
 
Am I put to sleep?
No not at all, you are very relaxed and aware of what is happening.
 
Is hypnosis dangerous?
No, it is a proven therapeutic aid.
 
Can someone in the hypnotic state be made to do anything against their will?
No, if suggestions were given that were against your will or nature you would simply be shocked out of the hypnotic state.
 
How many visits will I need?
Issues like anxiety, stress, pre-test nerves normally take 1 to 3 sessions.
Analytical therapy tackles the more deep-rooted problems rather than suggestion therapy, and takes 8 – 10 sessions, on a weekly basis.
 
Should ‘normal’ people try hypnosis?
Yes and for insight into yourself there is no equal.
 
What is hypnotherapy used for?
Hypnosis is very effective in assisting with the removal of deep-rooted problems.
Anxiety and panic attacks can be eliminated. Depression symptoms can be relieved. Hypnosis can help you develop better ways of handling stress and figuring out ways of defeating it.
Fears and phobias can be eliminated by using hypnotherapy.

There are two kinds of treatment in Hypnotherapy - Suggestion Therapy and Analytical Therapy

Suggestion Therapy

Often works well with surface problems such as exams stress, study difficulties, memory improvement, confidence building, public speaking and performance.

These normally require 1 – 3 sessions. This increases the powerfulness of the suggestions.

Analytical Therapy - Hypnoanalysis

Hypnoanalysis helps to find the root cause of a problem or symptom and removes it, giving lasting relief to the client. This process normally takes between 8-10 sessions.

Sessions are held privately and in the strictest confidence.

Because each person and each challenge is different the number of consultations vary. This is a totally private individual therapy, the first session is concerned with finding out about your problem, and assessing how best to handle it.
